Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position Opening
One Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is immediately available in the Tao Lab: The successful candidate will be appointed as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), and as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School (HMS)/Faculty of Medicine of Harvard University.
Position Requirements:
- MD in lupus nephritis or PhD in chemistry, pharmacology, bioengineering, or a related field, with substantial experience and strong experimental skills in lipid nanoparticle formulation and kidney-targeted drug delivery. Proficiency in nanoparticle characterization and experience with mRNA delivery systems for immunomodulation are essential.
- High motivation to solve scientific and practical challenges in targeted delivery of therapeutics for autoimmune kidney diseases, particularly lupus nephritis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Research background in immunology, nephrology, or autoimmune diseases.
- High-quality publications in kidney-targeted drug delivery, lipid nanoparticles, or lupus/autoimmune disease therapy.
- Experience in both in vitro and in vivo experiments with nanomedicine in kidney disease models, particularly lupus nephritis or other immune-mediated kidney diseases.
Salary:
- $70,000-75,000 USD per year, subject to the candidate's experience.
PI and Lab Information:
Prof. Wei Tao is the Farokhzad Family Distinguished Chair for Innovation (Endowed Chair), Co-Director of Nano Immune-Imaging Core, Principal Investigator in the Center for Nanomedicine, and Faculty Member in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He is a Member of the Academia Europaea (MAE), and a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). He has been continuously named Clarivate’s Global Highly Cited Researcher since 2021. Tao Lab is dedicated to the development of cutting-edge technologies in translational medicine (website: www.weitaolab.com).
The selected candidate will collaborate with a team of experts in chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology, RNA medicine, drug delivery, and biomedical engineering. The research project focuses on engineering lipid-based nanomaterials for lupus nephritis therapy and studying their interactions and interfaces within biological systems using advanced characterization tools.
Interested candidates should send their detailed CVs to Prof. Wei Tao (wtao@bwh.harvard.edu) with “Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Lupus Nephritis” in the subject heading. The position will open until we find a most suitable candidate (after which this ad will be removed).
